weekend

I have a new baby nephew! 🙂  He is SO sweet and tiny!  I left from work even earlier than anticipated on Friday because I got the phone call that my sister was in labor.  We left the house sooner than 30 minutes after we got the call, and we began the (usually) 6-hour drive to Mississippi.  Unfortunately, we got stuck in traffic for over an hour, so it took longer than usual, but we still got there in time to stay with the boys (3 years old and 1 1/2 years old) for the night while H&J were at the hospital.  The new baby was born at 1:15 in the morning, and J sent a text message to everyone to announce the birth.  What a modern world we live in. 🙂

The next morning, we got up & got the boys bathed, dressed, & fed, and then we took them to the hospital to see their new baby brother and their mom and dad.  The 1-year-old was cute & cuddled with the baby some next to H, but the three-year old was completely enthralled with his new brother.  He sat on J’s lap and held him almost the whole time we were there, and he was SO sad that we had to leave without H, J, and especially the new baby.

Bryan & I took the boys to the park, and we had a ball watching them run from one toy to another.  The rest of the day was pretty uneventful, including lunch, naps, and playing at the house, and then H&J brought the baby home.  We had a quiet evening, and we stayed through Saturday night so that we could watch the boys while they went back to the hospital on Sunday.  We spent some time with H&J after the boys fell asleep for their naps, and then we headed back to Texas.  It was a VERY fun weekend, even though we were tired out by it all, and we were extremely happy that we were able to be there to help them.
