housing

We’re officially in the market for a new house.  No, we’re not actually going to buy one, but we are planning to rent something a bit nicer than our current place.  Our current landlords are not very helpful and haven’t done anything to the house since we moved in, even though they said they would do a lot.  We currently have no ceiling fixtures that work in our kitchen or bathroom, and so we are using lamps in each place.  We have two bathrooms, but the shower does not work in one of them and neither does the plug for the bathtub.  (That’s not too big of a deal since we haven’t had company come to stay with us, but we were under the impression that we were paying for a house with two bathrooms.)  Our kitchen sink has a hole in it.  Not a pin-sized hole either.  Water pours down the outside of the drain pipe, and I collect it in a bucket to be emptied quite often.

Despite all of this, I am looking forward to decorating for Christmas soon.  Yes, I know, Thanksgiving isn’t here yet.  But I LOVE Christmas, and now that I have my own house, why not decorate when I get the urge? 🙂
