amazing things

I realized that this post was saved in my drafts instead of being posted!  How sad!  I thought this had gone out on my blog on August 22.

God is SO good! We had a pretty unbelievable day yesterday. It was quite incredible! As I said in my last post, we’ve had a hard time with support lately, and we started to get worried. Then we remembered that the Lord is watching over us and will provide us with everything we need. We took steps of faith, and we believed that our Provider would give us all that we need. He is such an awesome God!

Yesterday we received an amazing gift from a friend that will allow me to audit another class this session while taking care of future bills. We were extremely surprised and humbled by the generous gift, and we praised the Lord for his provision for us. A little while later, we received an unexpected gift from a family member. We were in awe and were so thankful for the blessings of the day. When we got home from church, there was a knock on our front door, and we were given another gift from a couple that we do not know! They had heard about us, and they felt like God wanted them to help us out. Once again, I was absolutely floored! We were not expecting so many blessings. As we were starting to think of getting ready for bed, Bryan’s phone rang.

Now before I tell you about the phone call, I must give some background. Just after we were married, we were given two non-working vehicles that Bryan repaired and sold. We were discussing frugality and money-making possibilities a few days ago, and Bryan mentioned that it would be great for someone to give us another car. We laughed about it, and I hadn’t thought much more about it.

Back to the phone call. It was one of Bryan’s truck buddies. He had a car that is broken down, and he was planning on junking it unless Bryan was interested in trying to fix it! We were going to buy it from him for a small amount, and he was going to have it towed to our house. A few minutes later, he called back and said that he and his wife discussed it, and they just couldn’t do it. We thought they meant that they wanted to get more money for it and so were going to take it somewhere else, but then he said that they just couldn’t accept any money for it! What an end to an incredible day!! Three unexpected gifts and a CAR! Wow. 🙂

Matthew 6:25-34

25“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?28“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
