New curtains!

Today was a very happy day. Today I finally replaced the ugly curtains that I have wanted to dispose of since we moved into the house last January! I actually was able to move the old curtains a few days ago, but we didn’t get the new shades until today, and I wanted to put those up before putting up the new curtain.

Here is half of the old curtain. It was here when the current owners bought the house almost 10 years ago, and who knows how many years it was here before then! There is only half of the curtain up because the other half kept falling on our heads whenever we tried to open the blinds or the sliding glass door. It finally broke the support that was holding it up, so we left it down.

Here is the full view with the other side being held up by my dear husband. (Bleh. Very faded & not my style.)

This next picture was a few nights ago when we joyously removed the curtains and the baby blue blinds that also constantly fell down and that didn’t extend all the way across the sliding door. You can see bamboo blinds on the chair; we bought them and installed one only to find out that you can see right through them.

And here is the finished product! First the curtains with the blinds pulled up…

and then with the blinds pulled down!

What do you think??
P.S. Although this was written on the night of Tuesday, July 31, it won’t be posted until Friday so that I can join in Shereen‘s “Sew Crafty Friday”! 🙂
